FAQs

Bedford Film Festival aims to be as accessible as possible and we’re on hand to answer any questions you may have about what we do. Below are a few frequently asked questions that we have received.

Do I need a PayPal account to purchase tickets?

No. Our ticketing system uses PayPal but you can use your debit or credit card without having to create a PayPal account.

Will tickets be available on the door?

If an event has not sold out, tickets will be available on the door on a first come first served basis. As our venues vary we cannot always guarantee that we will be able to accept credit and debit cards on the door, however we endeavour to do so at most of our screenings.

What do I need to bring if I have purchased my ticket in advance?

When you book with us you will receive a ticket via email. You can print this off and bring it with you, or show the email of your ticket on your phone to the ticket office. If you forget your ticket or don’t have access to your emails on your phone, we can check your purchase but will need to see ID and this may cause delays to other attendees.

Can we bring food and drink to the screenings?

Most venues will have food and drink available for purchase, although some may only have a limited variety. You cannot bring your own food or drink into the screenings, unless it is needed for medical purposes.

The following venues have their own policy on food and drink as follows:

The Higgins Bedford Food and Drink is not permitted in the gallery screenings but you are welcome to bring appropriate refreshments to screenings in the Barbican. The Higgins Pantry offers a selection of food and drink for purchase before and after the screenings.

Will age ratings be enforced?

Yes, all age ratings set by Bedford Film Festival will be strictly adhered to. If someone is lucky enough to appear to be under the age that the film is rated for then we will ask for photographic ID as proof of age. If they cannot prove their age then they will not be allowed into the screening.

Will there be any trailers? Will the films start at the advertised times?

There will be no trailers before the film however we may have a short advert from one of our sponsors. This advertisement helps keep our costs down. The times stated are for when audiences should be seated and we aim for films to start no more than 5-10 minutes after this time.

Does Bedford Film Festival accept CEA cards?

Yes. Bedford Film Festival is and always has been a fully accessible organisation. However as we are limited in our resources our ticketing system does not recognise CEA card numbers. If you require a CEA card seat please email info@BedfordFilmFestival.org to request a free seat code.

Is Bedford Film Festival fully accessible?

We are fully committed to being as accessible as we can be and all our main festival venues are fully accessible. As we are not an organisation with one set venue, however, there may be smaller ‘indie’ style venues who are not fully accessible due to the age of the building. If you are concerned about the accessibility at any of our screenings, please email info@BedfordFilmFestival.org to discuss your needs. We are always able to help, and can quite often overcome any issues with ease.

If any of your Bedford Film Festival questions have not been answered above, then please email info@BedfordFilmFestival.org.
