About Bedford Film Festival

Bedford Film Festival is a not for profit organisation screening films, inspiring film makers and promoting Bedford to the film industry

Our mission is to #SupportVariety, so our film choices will never follow a set genre. Instead we give audiences a chance to sample cinema they may not have had a chance to to experience before in carefully chosen screenings and film related events.

Bedford Film Festival

Variety is, as far as we’re concerned, is the spice of life. The films, venues, and workshops, that make up Bedford Film Festival are always very different from each other.

Films for all:

Some of the films chosen are from main stream cinema, others are from fledgling film makers or from foreign shores. This ranges from a festival in September screening a wide range of films for audiences of all ages and tastes, and individual screening throughout the year at multiple venues. Whether it’s the premier of a new foreign film or a large scale immersive cinema experience, all our events are enjoyed by film lovers everywhere.

Multiple venues across Bedford:

Our venues don’t follow a set format. We have a permanent home at The Quarry of St Luke’s, but also have relationships with other venues across Bedford, many who are not set up to screen films. By working with Bedford Film Festival these venues can access a film loving audience to promote their business or venue to a new group of people with a perfectly designed, bespoke film experience.

Inspiring future film makers:

Further to our own festival, we work hard to inspire businesses, community groups, cultural centres, educational establishments, and other entertainment organisations to use film to help further their goals. We work closely with local education providers to deliver film making workshops by leading industry experts.

Promoting Bedford:

We have a growing relationship with BAFTA, which is helping to highlight Bedford as a destination for filmmakers, and the arts associated with film. These relationship sees Bedford Film Festival, and in turn our town, benefit from exclusive exhibitions and talks from industry experts.
