Bedford Film Festival is a not for profit organisation set up to screen films not available in other local public venues, inspire local film makers with access to leading industry experts, and promote Bedford as a destination for filmmakers and lovers everywhere.
Our mission is to #SupportVariety, so our film choices will never follow a set genre. This will allow audiences to sample cinema that they have either never considered or perhaps haven’t had the chance to experience before.
Variety is, as far as we’re concerned, the spice of life. The films, venues, and workshops, that make up Bedford Film Festival will all be very different from each other.
Some of the films chosen may be from main stream cinema, others may be from fledgling film makers or from foreign shores. We are sure that whatever the popularity, style, or language of the films we choose, you will
enjoy them all.
Our venues will not follow a set format. Some may be large theatrical venues, others may be small eateries or nightclubs. Wherever we’re asked to help out, we’ll look at every option we can to ensure a perfect, yet
bespoke, cinematic experience.
Further to our own festival, we work hard to inspire businesses, community groups, cultural centres, educational establishments, and other entertainment organisations to use film to help further their goals. We work closely with Bedford College and Into Film to deliver film making workshops by leading industry experts, we work with Shooting People to inspire and create networking opportunities for young filmmakers, and we have a growing relationship with BAFTA to highlight Bedford as a destination for filmmakers, and the arts associated with film.
Bedford Film Festival is an annual cultural highlight for the benefit of Bedford people and businesses and hopes to encourage and inspire everyone to consider how they might support film variety across the town.
