Bedford Film Festival brings huge man-eating shark and talking bear to Bedfringe
Bedford Film Festival will be bringing a huge man-eating shark and a talking bear to Bedford as it screens two films chosen by film lovers in the town, Jaws and The Jungle Book, during Bedfringe 2015.
The films were nominated as part of Bedford Film Festival’s film ‘election’ which saw film lovers across the town pick their favourites from a list of 10 classics.
The Jungle Book - 30th July at 10:00: This Disney animated, musical classic, nominated by Emma Garrett, Co-Director Kiosk at the Park and Pavilion at the Park, tells the story of Mowgli a human child who is raised by a family of wolves and guided back to a nearby man-village by Baloo the bear and Bagheera the Panther.
Jaws - 31st July at 20:30: Steven Spielberg’s classic adaptation of the best-selling book was nominated by Sarah Cox, editor of Bedfordshire on Sunday. When a gigantic great white shark begins to menace the small island community of Amity, a police chief, a marine scientist and grizzled fisherman set out to stop it. Jaws is considered by many to be perfect cinema.
Both films will be screened at the brand new Quarry Theatre at St. Luke’s.
Co-Founding Director of Bedford Film Festival, Paul Hutchinson, said: “We’re so excited to bring these classic films to Bedford for our Bedfringe screenings, and even more so because they’ve been chosen by film lovers in the town. This will be a perfect warm up to our full festival, which this year runs from 11 September – 14 October 2015.”
Tickets for both films can be purchased via our listing pages and are priced between £3 and £6.50.
