Bedford Film Festival and Bedfringe love working together, especially when we can show works of art on the big screen. There are films that stand out above all others as works of art. Then there are films where every frame is a work of art that takes your breath away. Song of the Sea is one of those films.

This enchanting Irish animation tells the story of Ben and his little sister Saoirse, the last Seal-child, who embark on a fantastic journey across a fading world of ancient legend and magic in an attempt to return to their home by the sea. The film takes inspiration from the mythological Selkies of Irish folklore, who live as seals in the sea but become humans on land.
Featuring the voices of Brendan Gleeson, Fionnula Flanagan, David Rawle, Lisa Hannigan, Pat Shortt and Jon Kenny, the Song of the Sea is a film that will enchant children and warm adult hearts.
