The entertainment world was shocked to hear of the passing of Robin Williams’ death just a few weeks ago. His skills as an actor and performer spanned five decades, winning fans of all genres of cinema as he played characters that became household names.
One of these more successful was as the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin. A role originally supposed to be small but soon a lead character as Williams stole the show and recorded over 26 hours of ad-libbed audio for use. The film follows Aladdin, a street urchin, who accidentally meets Princess Jasmine, who is in the city undercover. They fall in love with each other, but as she can only marry a prince will they live happily ever after?
While many parents will hold this film in high-regard, we present Aladdin as a chance to bring this children’s classic to a new audience. What better way to remember Robin Williams, an acting legend, than by doing what he loved best. Bringing laughter to everyone.
